The IFDA Educational Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt, 501c(3) organization that raises and distributes funds to foster educational activities and related charitable endeavors. Administered by an all-volunteer, six-member Board of Trustees, EF's primary funding sources include a percentage of IFDA member dues and donations from chapters, individual members, industry, and corporate friends. Contributions, gifts, and bequests are deductible for federal income and estate tax purposes.


Scholarships

Multiple annual scholarships are available to design students through the IFDA Educational Foundation. The website specifies eligibility guidelines for each scholarship.

IFDA-NE established and funds the following scholarships:

Tony Fusco Memorial Scholarship — $6,000

Open To Currently Enrolled Design or Related Program,  Full- or Part-Time Undergraduate Students to be used at any international educational program, college, or learning institution.

FBN Leaders Commemorative Scholarship — $3,000

Open To Currently Enrolled Interior Design or Related Program, Full-Time Undergraduate Students, Extra Credit For Volunteer Work/Leadership.

Tricia LeVangie Green/Sustainable Design Scholarship — $1,500

Open To Currently Enrolled Interior Design or Related Program,  Full- or Part-Time Undergraduate Students

Scholarship applications are accepted every year from March 1 - March 31.


Grants

The Educational Foundation also supports design professionals and educators through multiple annual grants. Eligibility guidelines for each grant are specified on the IFDA Educational Foundation website.

Students

​The New England chapter is committed to supporting design students. Student memberships to the New England chapter are reduced to $50 annually. The membership gives students access to all IFDA-NE events at a reduced cost and networking opportunities with professional members who are interested in assisting students in their transition to becoming design industry professionals.
